Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) doit combattre les sept diaboliques ex-copains de sa nouvelle petite amie Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) pour gagner son coeur.

Voici l'adaptation de la bd dores et déjà culte du canadien Bryan Lee O'Malley, mélangeant manga, comics, retro gaming, rock alternatif et surtout comédie romantique. Aux commandes, on retrouve le réalisateur de "Shaun of the dead" et d'"Hot Fuzz", sans ses potes Simon Pegg et Nick Frost (actuellement sur "Tintin" de Spielberg et Jackson) mais avec tout de même un casting alléchant et la promesse de scènes d'action démentielles. Et de l'humour, beaucoup...
A noter que Bryan Lee O'Malley n'ayant pas encore terminé son oeuvre, le film aura droit à une fin différente.

Ruez vous sur la bd. Vraiment.

C'est une série qui parlera à tous les garçons de 20-et-quelque ans (mais aussi aux filles), sous ses aspects franchement hilarants, on aborde bien le sentiment d'arnaque et de flou qui vient avec le passage à l'âge adulte.

I just got back from seeing a directors cut of "Scott Pilgrim vs. The world" in Las Vegas, and let me start by saying "Pure 8-bit amazingness!" The night started off by waiting in line for about 20 minutes. In that amount of time I was given a piece of paper that read "The movie you are about to watch is a mix between JUNO and MORTAL KOMBAT." I instantly knew what I was going to see.

I'm not going to give away any spoilers or key scenes or anything, but let me say that the movie is definitely a nerdgasm. Aside from some of the blue and green screen still in the movie, and the wires carrying the actors, it was a very well played out movie, pretty true to the actual comic series.

Michael Cera was a perfect cast for Scott Pilgrim, as well as the girl who played Knives Chau (Ellen Wong). There where numerous references to everything video games. People exploding into coins, life bars, experience points, and even a brief Final Fantasy reference.

The seven X's were perfect castings, and all the fight scenes where awesome. It has been a while since I have seen a comic-based movie that was actually different than the standard of these movies. The fight scene actually had the whole "vs" voice overs. "FIGHT!" "PERFECT" "COMBO" "FINISH HIM"!

Overall the movie was excellent!!! And I can't wait for it to actually come to theaters!!!
